Most sports fans already own the usual things. A scarf. A shirt. A mug. A programme tucked away in a drawer. Maybe a poster from years ago, kept more for the memory than the quality. That is why an Andrew Robinson art print feels different. It takes something deeply personal, the love of a club, a player, a match, a venue or a sporting moment, and presents it as proper fine art. These are not throwaway decorations or mass-produced wall fillers.

Some football grounds feel alive before anyone has even kicked a ball. You hear the turnstiles click, smell the onions from a burger van, squeeze through a narrow concourse, then climb steps that generations of fans have climbed before. The view might be awkward. The seat might have less legroom than a bus shelter. The toilets might be best described as character building. Still, plenty of fans would not swap it. That is the heart of the traditional V's modern stadiums debate

Cambridge City F.C. has always held a special place in my heart. As a local football club, it represents more than just the game; it’s part of the community’s fabric. Yet, for years, I hesitated to paint the club because they lacked a permanent home. After leaving their historic City Ground on Milton Road, the team played at St Ives Town and Histon F.C. Now, they have finally settled into a new stadium in Sawston. This move inspired me to create the painting.

Abbey Stadium has stood as a familiar landmark in Cambridge for decades. Recently, I completed a new painting of this iconic home ground of Cambridge United. While visiting the stadium to take preparatory photos, I noticed that not much had changed in the eight years since my last painting. The stadium still carries the same character, with the forecourt cluttered by a hand carwash that gives it a somewhat cluttered, almost Steptoe’s yard feel. Being born less than two miles

Creating art that connects with a place and its people brings a unique satisfaction. Recently, I completed a painting of Histon FC’s stadium, a project I had wanted to do for a long time. This painting is more than just a depiction of a football ground; it reflects the local spirit and personal stories that make the club and its surroundings special to me. Why Histon FC Inspired Me Histon FC is not just a football club; it’s part of the local community I live in. Every time I

West Ham United F.C Boleyn Tavern Pub. Art has evolved dramatically with technology, but the rise of digital and AI-generated art has sparked a debate about the value of traditional hand painted works. While digital art offers convenience and speed, it cannot replicate the depth, authenticity, and lasting appeal of hand painted art.
