The snooker world is buzzing with excitement as the World Championships unfold in Sheffield. This moment feels like the perfect time to unveil a new spring collection of prints. The first painting to be released captures a legendary event from 1997: Ronnie O'Sullivan versus Mick Price, when Ronnie set the fastest ever time to complete a maximum 147 break.

Ronnie O'Sullivan. A Moment Frozen in Time

Almost 30 years ago, Ronnie O'Sullivan stunned the snooker world with a record-breaking maximum break during the World Championships. Watching that match live remains a vivid memory for many fans, including myself. I remember sitting in my student accommodation at Salford University with my housemates, all of us captivated by the speed and precision of Ronnie’s play. Even those who weren’t regular snooker followers found it thrilling.

This painting captures that exact moment, bringing the energy and intensity of the game to the art. It’s not just a tribute to Ronnie’s skill but also a celebration of snooker’s rich history and the passion it inspires.

Available Formats for Every Snooker Fan

The new print is available in several formats to suit different tastes and spaces:

  • Framed Fine Art Prints: Perfect for collectors who want a ready-to-hang piece.

  • Framed Canvas Prints: Adds texture and depth, ideal for living rooms or offices.

  • Unframed Canvas Prints: Flexible for custom framing or a modern, minimalist look.

  • Posters: Affordable and great for casual fans or students.

  • Ceramic Printed Mugs: A fun way to enjoy your morning coffee while celebrating snooker history.

This variety ensures that whether you want a centerpiece for your home or a small tribute on your desk, there’s an option for you.

Continuing the Journey with Iconic Matches

I have already completed a painting of the 1985 black ball final between Steve Davis and Dennis Taylor, another iconic snooker moment that changed the sport forever. That print is also available in the usual range of formats on the website.

Looking ahead, I plan to create more paintings that capture other legendary snooker scenes. These will be painted in my own style, blending realism with expressive brushwork to bring each moment to life. If you have any suggestions for iconic snooker moments you’d like to see immortalised in art, please feel free to email me at andrew@andrewrobinsonart.com.

Why Snooker Moments Make Great Art

Snooker is a sport of precision, patience, and drama. Each frame tells a story of skill, strategy, and sometimes sheer luck. Capturing these moments in art allows fans to relive the excitement and emotion long after the match has ended.

The 1997 Ronnie O'Sullivan maximum break is a perfect example. It wasn’t just about the points scored; it was about the speed, the focus, and the sheer brilliance of the player. This painting reflects that energy, inviting viewers to experience the thrill anew.

How to Choose the Right Print for You

When selecting a print from this collection, consider the following:

  • Space: Larger framed canvas prints work well in spacious rooms, while posters fit nicely in smaller areas.

  • Style: Framed prints offer a classic look, while unframed canvases provide a modern feel.

  • Purpose: For gifts or memorabilia, mugs add a personal touch.

  • Budget: Posters and mugs are more affordable options for fans on a budget.

Each format offers a different way to enjoy the artwork, making it easy to find something that fits your lifestyle and taste.

Join the Celebration of Snooker’s Heritage

The World Championships in Sheffield remind us why snooker continues to captivate audiences worldwide. This new spring collection of prints celebrates that heritage by bringing iconic moments into your home.

Whether you’re a lifelong fan or new to the sport, these prints offer a chance to connect with snooker’s history in a fresh and artistic way. The first painting is already selling well, and I’m excited to share more scenes soon.

As the second semi-final starts tonight, I’m wrapping up here. Thank you for sharing this journey with me. Keep an eye on the website for new releases, and don’t hesitate to reach out with your ideas or questions.

Best wishes,

Andrew
