Celebrating Cambridge City F C New Stadium with My Latest Painting and Prints
Cambridge City F.C. has always held a special place in my heart. As a local football club, it represents more than just the game; it’s part of the community’s fabric. Abbey Stadium has stood as a familiar landmark in Cambridge for decades. Recently, I completed a new painting of this iconic home ground of Cambridge United. While visiting the stadium to take preparatory photos, I noticed that not much had changed in the eight years since my last painting. The stadium still carries the same character, with the forecourt cluttered by a hand carwash that gives it a somewhat cluttered, almost Steptoe’s yard feel. Being born less than two miles
