Until now I'd known little about Annan or Annan Athletic F.C.. Its only a small town of 8000 so having a stadium with a capacity of 2500 (500 seated) is quite some achievement. I was intrigued after discovering the club was founded in 1942. Starting a football club during the war years seemed rather unusual. As it turns out the club fielded a team of youngsters that played in the local youth league and then developed into the club as it is now. The club have only recently become a member of the Scottish League but have certainly made a good impression. Good luck to Annan!
